20180102 Eastern Screech Owl

Thanks to Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control for picking up this bird!  He had been hanging out on a porch all morning, so a concerned citizen called FWACC.   Initial examination by our avian veterinarian:  He was quiet and not moving much.  No problems were found on physical exam or radiographs.  He was started on subcutaneous fluids and will be kept in ICU for monitoring. After blood work confirmed there was no infection internally, he was monitored in ICU for 4 days before he was moved out to the pens.  He was flight tested to see if he could fly normally and he could!  He was released on January 15th, 2018.
