20180504-Barred Owl - 1
History
Today, Soarin' Hawk got a call from a CO officer who picked up a barred owl from Wabash County. The man who found the owl said that he found him in his woods on his property. He took the owl to the Interpretive Center at Salamonie Reservoir, and the CO officer at Salamonie drove it to Huntington, where one of our volunteers picked him up. He was then taken to Pine Valley Veterinary clinic and evaluated by Dr. Funnell. Dr. Funnell said that he had a broken ulna and radius in his wing. 07/05/2018 Unfortunately this barred owl required amputation of his wing, which obviously makes him non-releasable. We will try and place him in a qualified facility.
