20170831-Red-tailed Hawk

This bird was initially found in Portland, IN by a woman named Alisa.  It was found in a cemetary and was able to hop and glide, but unable to fly.  It was taken to the Portland Veterinary Clinic and given radiographs, which found that the bird had shotgun pellets lodged in its body.  It was shuttled to Fort Wayne by Jasmin and Garry, and it now in the care of our avian veterinarian at Soarin' Hawk. 11/11/2017 We are very pleased with the progress of this bird.  He has been undergoing physical therapy of the right wing for the past month.  He continues to improve extension of the right wrist with each session.  We will continue creance flying and release this bird soon.
