20260911-Cooper's Hawk-1
History
Mark Hamilton, first noticed a hawk in the backyard about 10:30 am in Markle, IN. Upon approaching it, the hawk did not fly away. Covered with a laundry basket and called SoarinHawk. I picked up the young Cooper’s hawk about 1:40 pm. Noted flat flies on him and blood on the inside of the left wing.
Kim Nedberg triaged the hawk and noted another slice-like wound on his chest as well as the left wing. Keel 3 1/2 and wt. 456g. He was also covered in fly eggs. No appearance of broken bones.
The Hawk remains in the ICU for treatment.
