12022015-ESOW  This grey phase Eastern Screech Owl presented with an injury to his right eye.  It did heal, but left him without vision in the eye as well as an iris adhesion. In the photograph you will notice his right iris is an oval shape that goes down further than in his normal eye; the iris developed scar tissue that keeps it from functioning normally.  Raptors cannot be released with vision in only one eye as they cannot see well enough to hunt live prey.  Fortunately this guy has a new home! He will be going to the Oklahoma City Zoo with our read phase Screech Owl!

How You Can Help

It's important to rescue, rehab, and share these birds with the community, and we thank our donors and volunteers for making it possible.
