11062018 Cooper's Hawk - 1

Location of Rescue:
Fort Wayne, IN
Admission Date:
Cause of Admission:
Dazed, possible eye injury
UPDATE: 11/28/2018 - After 3 weeks of rest and observation, we determined that the hawk was ready for release, and it was taken back to where it was found on Wednesday, November 28.

Larry G. of rural Avilla called Sunday, November 4, to report that he witnessed a hawk dodge in front of a car.  He found the hawk in some nearby bushes, dazed.  He caged the bird for a day and encouraged him to fly with no results.  He called around and was referred to Soarin’ Hawk.  I picked the bird up on Tuesday, November 6,  and transported it to the ICU.  Kat’s examination indicated nothing broken or damaged.  His left eye was somewhat suspect; he was given fluids and held for observation.

How You Can Help

It's important to rescue, rehab, and share these birds with the community, and we thank our donors and volunteers for making it possible.
