UPDATE: 02/23/2019 - On Saturday February 23, 2019 this beautiful adult red-tailed hawk was released back to its home territory in Angola, IN after spending the past four months with us recovering from its injuries. Those involved with its rescue were present to watch it head home!

This red-tailed hawk was found in Angola, IN.  It is assumed to have been hit by a car.  It had some vision problems and a fractured pelvis. It was treated with medication for pain and an antibiotic.  Pelvic fractures cannot be wrapped or casted because of the location if the fracture. They usually resolve on their own. Amazingly he was perching in 2 days.  He was hand fed for a few days until he started eating on his own.  His vision issue resolved on its own also.

He was moved to our rehabilitation facility after 4 weeks.

How You Can Help

It's important to rescue, rehab, and share these birds with the community, and we thank our donors and volunteers for making it possible.
