UPDATE: 10/06/19 This Hawk is very thin and dehydrated. It is also very lethargic. It is being given fluids and being fed with an oral food. It's prognosis is guarded 10/07/19 This Hawk was found dead this morning

Soarinhawk received a call from a gentleman in Decatur who saw a Red-tailed hawk in his back yard. When he approached it, the bird walked away and was limping. The gentleman was able to put a laundry basket over the bird until we got there. The bird did not offer much resistance when picked up. I did not observe any injuries, but he felt extremely light. His keel was a 1.5, so he was very thin. 

 

He was transported to ICU where Kat will give him a complete evaluation.
