Warsaw, IN
Admission Date:
Cause of Admission:
Young and dumb
UPDATE: 09/10/19 Sadly this young Hawk was found dead today

Meanwhile, while just starting to return from my trip to Pierceton to pick up a GHOW (another story), Lynn called and said there was a Redtail in Warsaw.  She asked if I would be able to get it as well; I said sure, why not.  Fortunately I always carry two boxes.  I met up with a conservation officer and we walked the property.  As the picture indicated, it was perched on a rail on the other side of the fence where it was first seen the day before.

Went to pick it up, put a towel around it and it became very docile.  Put it in the box and took it to Pine Valley with the GHOW picked up earlier.

Lets hope they both make it.  Prayers for them.

09/09/2019 This Hawk is being treated for dehydration and emaciation. It is a juvenile and sometimes they take a while to figure out how to take care of themselves. He is being tube fed and will start being given solid food today. This can be a difficult situation for these young birds to recover from

How You Can Help
