On August 15th, 2020 a man dropped a Barred Owl off at the Humane Society of Noble County, saying the bird had struck the side of his car. No information was provided by this person. The owl was lethargic and had little resistance to being handled. Blood was found in the mouth and an eye injury was noted. HSNC contacted Soarin' Hawk and I gathered the necessary information and transported the bird to our I.C.U. Ellen assessed the owl and began triage. Photos were taken and an intake card completed.
08/16/2020 We received this bird and discovered it had active bleeding in its ear and an eye injury. It was treated for pain and we began treatment for its eye injury
08/22/2020 This owl's condition is slowly improving. We are still treating it and it's finally eating on its own
09/06/2020 This owl has been moved to our rehabilitation facility
