UPDATE: 06/23/2019 - Via volunteer Diana: I had the privilege to see this young bird re-nested.  The generosity of Matt West Tree Service allowed this bird to be returned to its very, very high nest.  The parents and another sibling were watching closely as Matt climbed up this tree.  We placed the young Cooper's hawk in a sturdy bag, and Matt carefully pulled the bag to the top of the tree.  He placed the bird close to the nest under the parents' supervision.  By the time he got to the bottom again, everyone was back in the nest.  Couldn't have done it without you, Matt!

This baby Cooper’s hawk was found by Erica M. at her father’s home residence.  She initially took the hawk to the zoo, who then recommended that it be brought to Soarin’ Hawk.  Volunteers Roger and Marjorie picked up the bird and brought it to our ICU.  No injuries were discovered upon arrival, so no treatments beyond food and water were given.  The baby will be placed back in the nest as soon as possible.

How You Can Help

It's important to rescue, rehab, and share these birds with the community, and we thank our donors and volunteers for making it possible.
