UPDATE: 07/20/2019 This Kestrel has matured enough to be released

On 6/2/19, Soarin’ Hawk was called about an American kestrel that a lady saw hit a sign as he was flying, and fell to the ground.  She was able to pick him up and put him in a cat carrier.  I met her at ICU and admitted him.  He did not seem to be injured and had a healthy keel.  He might have just been stunned from hitting the sign.

06/06/2019 This Kestrel is young and healthy. As soon as he starts eating on his own, he will moved with the other young Kestrels we have. When it is determined that he can take care of himself , he will be released

This young kestrel has been moved out to our rehabilitation facility with our other young kestrels. He will stay there until it is decided he can take care of himself.

07/01/2019 - This kestrel is young and healthy.  He has been moved in with the other young kestrels we have.  When it is determined that he can take care of himself, and successfully hunt live prey, he will be released.
