UPDATE: 05/22/21 Released a Tuvu today in a cornfield in Portland. 5 folks present besides Suz and I. Super nice folks
Bird was picked up about 2 weeks ago on mothers day in a downpour. Nothing was found to really be wrong with him other than being totaled cold and soaked.
Release was one of the more beautiful ones to watch that we personally have done.
Brochures were handed out during the rescue.
Took a call to go to Portland on mothers day, in the pouring rain to rescue a downed bird. When i arrived, it turned out to me a small Turkey Vulture, wet and very unresponsive. Talked with the folks about our facility, procedure and next steps. I handed out our brochures and took the bird to ICU.
When I arrived Barb H. was there to do triage on the bird with Nicole. After examination by Maraiah the other day it was determined the bird had no discernible injury. .
As always we want to see these guys return to nature. Thoughts and prayers to you little guy.
05/16/21 this vulture has been moved to a flight pen . this will give us the opportunity to evaluate its flight. No injuries were found on this bird's initial evaluation
