UPDATE: Released June 23

On May 8th a call came into Soarin' Hawk rescue phone about a hawk in Ashley, IN. We where there of that this large hawk collided into a chicken coop and had been seen down on the ground for possibly 2 days, struggling to fly.  When I went to the place that hawk had been last seen, it was nowhere to be found. The homeowners and I had searched for quite a long time with no luck finding it. So we gave up the search and I left. Then about 15 minutes after I left, the homeowners contacted us again. They said they had found the hawk perched on a low branch under a pine tree. I drove back to find the hawk in the middle of their yard. I was able contain it into one of our carriers very easily. Then I took it somewhere so it could be transported straight to our veterinarian. After Dr. Funnell examined the bird, she told us that it  had some head trauma what seem strong and was a good weight .... The bird was admitted into our facility to give it time to heal.  after several days of evaluating the bird it was cleared for Creance flying at our facility... this is the final stage of a birds rehabilitation process.  after 46 days total of it being with Soarin' Hawk the bird was released! This adult Red Tailed Hawk flew high and strong. She/He  knew right where to go. Today this beauty is finally home
