On April 30 at 7:30pm, the hotline got a call from Dennis S. In Milford, IN about a bald eagle on the ground, unwilling to fly. We dispatched Pam Wolfe to pick up the bird. A photo showed the bird on the ground, lying on his chest, with his legs out to the side. He was very lethargic.
After a long drive, Pam and the eagle arrived at ICU after 10pm, where Maraiah Russell, JD Price, and Nicole Kelty triaged.
05/06/2121 This birds initial examination revealed no injuries but it was dehydrated and lethargic. There is no know reason for this but we treated with subcutaneous fluids and medication for pain (just in case). This beautiful adult eagle is recovering very quickly. We are hoping for a quick release
