I received a call from Bob Walton about an injured hawk in Decatur. The bird was at Wendy's. Since I was a few miles from Decatur, I told Bob I would call Wendy's and get the information. I spoke to the manager and she said they found the bird sitting at the front door when they opened. I was not prepared for a rescue but went anyway. I had no gloves and no box, but had other available options. I arrived at Wendy's to find the hawk already under a box and contained. After getting him under control I took him to Dr. Pat's office and dropped him off.
3-26-17 The vision in his right eye is back to normal! He is a very lucky Coopers Hawk as they usually do not regain their vision. He will hopefully be released soon!
