Eastern Screech Owls are unique among raptors in that they come in two different colors, or phases as they are called.  Cricket is a grey phase.  One of our other Eastern Screech Owls, Peanut, is a red phase.

Cricket was found in Andrews, Indiana.  He was weak, thin and had an injury to his right wing that left him unable to fly.  We will never know what caused his injuries.  He was added to Soarin’Hawk’s education permit in the spring of 2014.
